Terms of Service

You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration and to keep that information current.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these Terms, engages in fraudulent activity, or is otherwise harmful to the Platform, its users, or third parties.

All purchases made through the Platform are final and non-refundable. By completing a purchase, you acknowledge and agree that no refunds, returns, or exchanges will be issued. This policy applies to all digital content sold on the Platform regardless of format, price, or reason for the request.

We encourage Buyers to review all available product information, descriptions, previews, and sample content before completing a purchase.

Sellers set their own prices. Author Direct does not charge Sellers any commission or platform fee on sales. Sellers receive 100% of the sale price.

Credit card processing fees (currently 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction, as set by our payment processor) are passed to the Buyer as a separate, transparent line item at checkout. These fees are subject to change based on our payment processor’s rates.

By listing content on the Platform, Sellers represent and warrant that:

• They are the original creator of the content or have obtained all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions to sell and distribute the content.
• The content does not infringe upon the intellectual property rights, copyrights, trademarks, or any other rights of any third party.
• The content does not contain unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable material as determined by applicable law.
• All information provided in the product listing, including descriptions and metadata, is accurate and not misleading.
• They are responsible for any applicable taxes on their sales income.

Sellers who violate these obligations may have their content removed and their accounts suspended or permanently terminated without notice.

Author Direct is committed to maintaining a legitimate marketplace. We employ review processes and technical measures designed to detect and prevent the sale of pirated, stolen, or otherwise infringing content.

However, Author Direct cannot guarantee that all content listed on the Platform is free from infringement. Due to the volume and nature of digital content, it is not possible to independently verify the ownership or licensing status of every item listed. The responsibility for ensuring that content does not infringe third-party rights rests solely with the Seller.

If you believe that content on the Platform infringes your copyright or other intellectual property rights, please contact us immediately at legal@author-direct-books.com with the following information:

• Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
• Identification of the content on the Platform that you claim is infringing, including a link to the listing.
• Your contact information (name, address, email, phone number).
• A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the content is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
• A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the owner.
• Your physical or electronic signature.

Upon receipt of a valid notice, we will promptly investigate and, where appropriate, remove or disable access to the infringing content. Repeat infringers will have their accounts permanently terminated.

By purchasing content on the Platform, Buyers receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable, personal license to access and read the purchased content for their own private use. Buyers may not:

• Redistribute, resell, share, or publicly display the purchased content.
• Remove, circumvent, or tamper with any digital rights management or content protection measures.
• Use the content for any commercial purpose without the Seller’s express written permission.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Author Direct, its owners, officers, employees, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Platform, any transaction between a Buyer and a Seller, or any content listed on the Platform.

Author Direct is a platform provider and does not author, edit, endorse, or verify the content sold by Sellers. Any dispute regarding the quality, accuracy, legality, or intellectual property status of content purchased on the Platform is between the Buyer and the Seller. Author Direct bears no liability for claims arising from such disputes.

In no event shall the total liability of Author Direct to you for all claims exceed the amount you paid to Author Direct (not to Sellers) in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
